I believe in the power of design to do good - especially when decisions are made with compassion, empathy, and diverse perspectives.
I learned about the field of architecture through images of Shigeru Ban's work in a class on human creativity. After an abstract expressionist sculptor encouraged me to look into wood sculpture, I found myself flipping through architecture texts in a book store for hours. I was locked in.
While my earlier college years involved studying sciences related to healthcare work, I was compelled to pursue passion. I received my Bachelor of Architecture from Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 2015. As a member of the first cohort to complete the curriculum, I supported the program in earning NAAB accreditation.
I am currently expanding upon my architecture-borne abilities to support a variety of functions at a transit technology start-up as a System Planner - providing additional perspective in the formation of the company while envisioning possible futures unlocked by this mobility solution.
My thesis work has been shown in the Academy of Art Atelier Exhibition “Resilient”: an exhibition in concert with AIA San Francisco and the Center for Architecture + Design 2016 Architecture and the City Festival - Resilient City. I have received amateur awards in photography, love the outdoors, and affectionately appreciate the diverse experiences the Bay Area and beyond has to offer.
